Seattle Slew, horse racing’s lone remaining living Triple Crown winner, passed away on May 7, 2002 at the age of 28. Already ranked among the all time greats by virtue of this accomplishment alone, Slew is even more notable as the only Triple Crown winner to go undefeated as a three year hold. He came from humble beginnings, bought at public auction–the only Triple Crown winner to be acquired in this manner. After retiring to stud in’78 he remained a very profitable horse based on a stud fee of $300,000. His offspring earned over $76 million dollars at the race track and include over 100 stakes race winners including’84 Kentucky Derby champion Swale.

Even though both 2009 Horse of the Year Rachel Alexandra and 2010 Horse of the Year Zenyatta stop producing a new generation of champions, their rivalry continues.
Recently after Rachel Alexandra’s owners proclaimed that she was pregnant, Zenyatta was also confirmed to be ‘in foal’. Dottie Ingordo-Shirreffs, wife of trainer John Shirreffs and the racing manager for owners Ann and Jerry Moss, made the declaration ‘in character’ as the superstar mare on ‘her’ website at Zenyatta.com. The 7 year old Zenyatta was bred to 2006 Preakness Stakes winner Bernardini 14 days ago and the pregnancy was discovered on Thursday morning after a routine ultrasound.

The world celebrated Melbourne Cup was created after the objective from the Victorian Turf Club to put on a “good handicap” that would rival its counterpart, the Victoria Jockey Club. While 1860s racing officials were definitely impassioned and visionary in many ways, not inside their craziest hopes might they have figured that the Cup could come to be what we see now - the most important 3200 metre handicap horse racing event around the world. At this time this function is as Australian as Kangaroos, Uluru and Bells Beach and Melbourne Cup betting is really a tradition by itself.

Horse Supplements can help your equine to be formidable for any showjumping contest. Show jumping, also known as stadium jumping, open jumping or even jumpers, is really a participant of a family of British riding horse riding events that also includes dressage, eventing, hunters, as well as equitation. Jumping lessons commonly are seen at horse shows all over the world, including the Olympic games. At times exhibits are limited exclusively to jumpers, sometimes jumper classes are presented along with some other English-style proceedings, and sometimes show jumping is but one division of very large, all-breed contests that include a very wide variety of disciplines.
