Barrel racing is an equestrian event during which a horse and rider endeavor to complete a cloverleaf pattern around three preset barrels in the quickest time. The barrels are set in a triangle in the center of the ground. The sport tests the combination of the horsemanship skills of the rider with the athletic ability of the horse.
It is among the fastest growing equestrian sports amongst women. It is usually an enormously rough sport on both the horse as well as the rider, so having the proper equipment is vital for the health of everyone involved.
