There is much that should be known when one is looking at horse equipment. This equipment is often refer to as tack and is made up of a number of different things. Each piece of tack will have certain things that you should know about it.

When you are putting tack on a horse the first thing you will want to have is the headgear. There are three things that are placed into the category of headgear. These things are the halter, the bridle and the hackamore. A halter is not used for riding but rather leading the horse to and from places. Bridles are made up of three things which are the headstall, the bit and the reins. There are many people who do not want to ride with a bit as they feel it is cruel. These people will use a hackamore which is in essence a bit-less bridle.
