Horses in Florida are the latest target of equine thieves. These hooligans are terrorizing local barns and stables in an attempt to steal and resell horses.
Many owners have been confining their horses to stalls at night, in secure barns. Security lighting, motion detection devices, and alarm systems are options, as well as having someone live on the premises are some steps to keeping your horse safe. Installing a good quality baby monitor in the barn can also be a help, as you will be able to hear activity that might signal danger.

Your choice for a new home for your companion will be a caring, stable home, regardless of why you have chosen to sell them. Word of mouth is an efficient means of informing people that you have a horse for sale. If you are acquainted with people who are horse lovers, you will most assuredly want to let them know of your intent to sell your horse. Word will get around to other friends of horses who reside in the vicinity. Once the message gets out, you may hear that someone you know, either directly or indirectly, is in the process of searching for a new horse. It is always comforting to know that your dear pet is in the care of someone you know will offer a good home, which is a result of selling to someone you know.

Riding a horse for the first time can be an intimidating, even scary idea for the novice beginner. However, your first time on a horse should be a pleasurable and rewarding experience.
There are several things to consider if you have never ridden a horse or pony before. You should determine where you will take your ride. It is vital to start your riding career with a certified instructor. You can check around at local farms and stables for a certified instructor. Also, while you are there take a look at the different styles of riding. Western style and English style are the two primary styles of riding. Choose the one you like and find a good reputable certified instructor. Then get ready for your first ride in a confined area–either a corral or a riding pen.
