Buying a horse is an expensive affair. Obviously, you don’t want to make a decision that you are going to regret. Obviously your reasons for having a horse will be different from anyone else’s so choose one that meets your needs.
Okay you have fallen in love with the idea of buying a horse and have found a flashy looking equine, so now what? The first thing is to reconnect with your goals and ask if this horse will meet all those requirements. You need to consider what you are buying a horse for: will it be for hunting, driving, barrel racing, trail riding or jumping? In fact do you actually intend to ride the horse at all? In many instances, horses are used to drive a cart or buggy.

You should invest in horse riding boots and helmet if you are a more serious rider. Not only will it make you feel more comfortable, it can also save your life.
Studies show that one quarter of sports related fatalities are caused by horse riding. And most horse related injuries are a result of falling from a horse and being kicked by a horse. This can happen if your foot gets caught in the stirrup, which can be caused by inaccurate horse riding boots. Therefore, choosing the right boots is very vital.

An equestrian helmet is a piece of armor, usually made of metal, designed to protect the head when riding horses. It is a headgear that is specifically designed to protect the head of the rider if the rider falls off the horse. Falling off a horse can happen to every equestrian rider. And this can lead to serious injuries and sometimes death.
Most horse related injuries result from falling off a horse and being kicked by a horse, which may cause skull fractures. This is the very reason why helmets are now being required to be worn by riders whenever near or on the horse. Some states in the United States even have law requiring riders under 14 years of age to wear helmet at all times when horseback riding.
